During this session you will learn various chants themed around the concept of "non attachment" coupled with philosophical debates around this topic and some meditation techniques. It doesn't matter at all whether you think you can sing or if you are tone deaf, chanting is more about sharing sound vibrations rather than being on the X factor! Lively debate and discussion is encouraged. Everyone is very welcome, it will be a nourishing and relaxing event.

CHANTING & CHAI

living without attachment

Weds 27th June 2018

6.00pm - 8.00pm

The therapeutic benefits of sound have long been recognised by yogis and in many other traditions, but it's also a scientifically proven, quantifiable property. Creating and being surrounded by positive sounds is incredibly uplifting and soothing and this session will give you confidence in chanting and sound based exercises.

After the guided practises, there will be time and space to share any reflections you may have and ask any questions. This will be a completely non-judgmental and encouraging space, where anything you care to share will be welcome.  Silence and introspection is equally welcome.

To feed your body as well as your soul, a selection of vegan and vegetarian baked goods, hand made by my chef girlfriend Sal who owns Breadren will be gifted to you. Exact offerings change according to seasonality and availability, but previous treats have included chewy fennel and cardamom cookies, fruity banana and coconut loaves, decadent chocolate brownies and sumptuous matcha mochi cakes. These will be accompanied by hearbal tea and water.
